Brazilian hair straightening?

im thinking about getting my hair brazilian hair straightened but i kinda want reviews from someone whos actually got it done. i heard that this would be better than japenese straightening because japenese makes your hair like completely straight to your head but brazilian gives your hair a little volume. is this true? my hair is like a little past my shoulders, its pretty thin, and its really wavy. does anyone have any idea how much this might cost, how long it lasts and a good place to get it done? also are there any other straightening methods or whatever that would be better?Brazilian hair straightening?
Well I;m not sure about price or a good place, but I think Japanese may be better (from seeing several peoples' results)/ One of my friends with out-of-control-frizzy-thick hair gets the Japanese one. It makes her hair look amazing! It has body, it never gets frizzy, and it is so healthy looking. And all she uses is shampoo. No hair products! There are these 2 moms of my classmates and they got Brazilian done. The one hated it, because it lasted for, like, a week, and it looked gross. The other I couldn't tell because she hid it in a bun, maybe because it turned out bad, but I don't honestly know.

Maybe ask a hair stylist at a local salon?

Brazilian Hair Straightening..?

Can someone tell me a lot of Brazilian hair straightening? I know that its at least $250 and lasts about 3 months...is it worth it? Does it damage your hair a lot? Does it stay silky and smooth and non-frizzy?Brazilian Hair Straightening..?
never heard of it but its not worth it. you can spend that 250 on japanese straightening that last for at least half of year. and after u get it done u hair is still silky and smooth and no frizzy. is about 250 depends on the length of your hair. i think its worth of doing this. and of course it damage you hair. anything you do to your hair that unnatural is damaging your hairBrazilian Hair Straightening..?
Hello! I've been researching this all over the web. It is referred to as Brazilian straightening and Brazilian Keratin Treatment. It lasts from 3-4 months, and you can't wash your hair for 4 days after the process or use a shampoo with sodium choloride in it (ever!) or else it will revert. It is a much safer alternative than TR because it doesn't use any chemicals. It takes a liquid form of keratin, which is what your hair is made up of and repairs the damage done to your hair from other chemical processes. It also leaves it straight. You can have it done over a TR, coloring process, etc. and you can do these processes after it as well. Whereas, with a TR you have to use semi or demi permenant color and you risk a lot of damage if the person is inexperienced. The most famous brand of ';BKT'; right now is Marcia Teixtera who has a website with before and after photos, as well as any other questions about the product. Her website is braziliankeratin.com She also allows salon professionals to order the product, so if you want to try to talk your stylist into doing it for you, then refer her to that website. If you have any further questions about the process or simply want to hear testimony, I also frequent the lamasbeauty.com salon discussion board. Professional stylists answers questions on there about BKT and TR and have a lot of useful information. HTH!
They have japanese hair straightening... i've never heard of a brazilian hair straightening. someone got the japanese straightening and said it lasted her all year.
I've never heard of Brazillian Straightening...
it's $80 bucks here in florida for medium hair. my sister in law had it done, and her hair is gorgeous, swear, soooo shiny and silky, i really liked it.

Brazilian Hair Straightening?

i have really banana curl hair. my aunt is a hair dresser so i get things done for practically free. she offered to do the brazilian hair straightening treatment on my hair. when i went on the internet to do some pre-happening research, i found that it potentially dangerous? what are the chances of death from formaldehyde? preferably someone experienced in this treatment?

Brazilian Hair Straightening?
I've never heard of that before...anything can damage your hair/body.

Maybe don't do it if you feel scared? Ask your aunt about more info on that.

    omg !!

that stuff is the best !!

its actually called keratin %26amp; noo, it doesnt damage ur hair.

i've done it and the results are fantastic. (i have frizzy, damaged, unruly hair)

    it revived my hair completely.

its pretty expensive tho. if its really well done, its gonna cost you a little bit more but its worth it !!

it lasts about 5 - 6 months even more depending on your hair -- the more damaged and curly the better !!

i say do it if you straighten your hair EVERYDAY. its gonna be wayyy easier for you. trust me :) hope i helped !!

    * my aunt is a PROFESSIONAL hair dresser . she did it for me . i'd THINK she'd tell me if its possibly fatal .Brazilian Hair Straightening......?
Yes, it does damage your hair.

It's putting tons of heat and chemicals on your hair. Obviously that's damaging.

Ask your stylist about their opinion. You could get it, but you'd have to be careful about how often you straighten it yourself, and you'd definitely want to deep condition at least once a week.

    I hope I helped (:

    Spammers suck

Anyhoo.. I am a Hairstylist and we do it in our salon.. There have been many people who have done it and it works wonders.. It is so much better for the hair then regular straightening because it is so much more conditioned... If u do get it done Make sure u ask if they are certified and how many times they have done it..
I saw one of those brazilian keratin hair straightening things in Ulta and it said it didn't have formaldehyde in it. It's one of those at home kits. You could check it out it was about 70 dollars. It sounds really good but I don't know much about it.
Just googled it to see what it was...

You wont die....if people died because of this, it would be illegal.

I don't think you should do anything permanent to your hair. In the long run it will dry it out, burn it, and do serious damage to it. Then you'll have to wait until your hair grows out, then cut the rest off.

You might be one of those lucky ones that don't get it damaged, but that's unlikely.

Just use a good ceramic straightener, with any heat product before you straighten it. The heat product will prevent your hair from drying and getting split ends.

If you have very big curls, just work with it. There are lots of products out there that will maintain your curls looking beautiful.
