Brazilian Hair Straightening?

i have really banana curl hair. my aunt is a hair dresser so i get things done for practically free. she offered to do the brazilian hair straightening treatment on my hair. when i went on the internet to do some pre-happening research, i found that it potentially dangerous? what are the chances of death from formaldehyde? preferably someone experienced in this treatment?

need some stories?!?!?!?Brazilian Hair Straightening?
Well, I'm not a pro but i have had it done. and because of the fact that i am writing this i am not dead! but anyways there are 2 kinds a Brazilian on and a Japanese one, the Brazilian one is much safer than the Japanese one! And also its your aunt i don't think she wants to hurt you! hope this is helpfull!!!

You wont die....if people died because of this, it would be illegal.

I don't think you should do anything permanent to your hair. In the long run it will dry it out, burn it, and do serious damage to it. Then you'll have to wait until your hair grows out, then cut the rest off.

You might be one of those lucky ones that don't get it damaged, but that's unlikely.

Just use a good ceramic straightener, with any heat product before you straighten it. The heat product will prevent your hair from drying and getting split ends.

If you have very big curls, just work with it. There are lots of products out there that will maintain your curls looking beautiful.
